Booking Ride into History
Ann Birney and Joyce Thierer are scholars. Both have doctoral degrees, Ann in American Studies from the University of Kansas, Joyce in American History from Kansas State University. Both are on the Kansas Humanities Council’s History Alive! roster and have been sponsored by humanities councils in many other states and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Joyce is on the history faculty at Emporia State University. As entertainment, Ride into History is on the rigorously juried Kansas Arts Commission Kansas Arts on Tour and Mid-American Arts Alliance rosters. With sufficient notice, funding assistance is generally available from humanities councils and arts commissions nationwide.
Most performances are ideal for groups of thirty to 400 people--larger in a theater with in-house lighting and sound. The troupe provides sound system with wireless lapel microphones, publicity copy, and, for most pieces, curriculum guides.
